The Canyon is about the pull of a place that feels both expansive and enclosing. Masses gather at the edges while an opening emerges between them, creating the sense of being drawn inward toward something not yet visible.

There is both exposure and shelter in that passage—a narrowing that somehow creates possibility. The painting moves between weight and openness, suggesting the feeling of entering unfamiliar ground without knowing where it will lead. What begins as distance becomes invitation: a passage through, rather than around.
